Ms. Abigail Martin

At the start of my martial arts career, I started at a local studio here in Stevens Point. At this local studio we learned traditional taekwondo and point sparring. We practiced multiple weapons and many different kinds of self-defense as well. This studio is where I earned my 1st degree black belt in 2016 and I went on to earn my 2nd degree black belt in 2019. Unfortunately, in the same year I earned my 2nd degree black belt, that studio closed its doors. This is when I came to Five Rings Martial Arts. I was at Five Rings Martial Arts for approximately a month before Master Decker knew I was ready to start testing for my 1st degree Kukkiwon black belt. I went on to earn my 1st degree Kukkiwon black belt in 2020 and my 2nd degree Kukkiwon black belt in 2021. From there I started teaching during the COVID-19 pandemic and since then I learned to teach my first weapons class (Bo and Nun chucks). I now moved onto instructing taekwondo for the Little Tiger's program and assisting with Poomsae. I found a great sense of community and sense of belonging in taekwondo and look forward to the many more opportunities with sport has in store for me.
